The year 2008 . . .

Fannishly and 'Net-ly speaking, the Winchesters Boys--and the actors who play them--ate my brain.

Went to Corolla, NC, with Geo's fam. It was FANTASTIC! It was the most relaxed I've been in at least a year and a half.

Got new blinds for the living room windows, and they're lovely.

I (We) had new medical experiences in regards to attempting to expand our family.

I got to watch an unaired TV show starring a favorite actor.

We found a church we like. Yay!

I'm still working for the theater foundation.

(I should do the Year in Review meme that's been going around.)

I haven't made New Year's resolutions in years. "Resolutions" seem to be a set-up for failure. But this year, I'm inspired to set some goals for 2009:

* Read a book a month. (A corollary is to read less fic, which means I should be more selective--stop laughing, Izhi--about the fic I do read.) Suggestions are welcome.

* Develop a new skill set. I haven't decided what I'd like that to be. I'm considering icon-making, knitting (there are several knitters at Geo's work and one gal, when I mentioned this, suggested starting a knitting circle), shooting (the problem here being that I don't have my own rifle--or any gun, for that matter), dancing (need to check to see what sort of dance is available through Parks and Rec).

* Lose approximately 25 lbs. Per my new GP doctor, I need to get down to about about 150 lbs. This will help control a lot of my PCOS symptoms. I know this, but I'm thrilled that he knows this. He also said that my ideal weight for my height (and I've somehow gained an inch on my height) is 136 lbs., which I think would make me look downright ill, but it might be kind of fun to try to reach that goal.

* Improve my faith life. I feel that I've been floundering since the move, and it's high time to get back on track.

* Work on my short story. Get that original short story whipped into shape, possibly convert it to a screenplay, and figure out how/where to present it. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Happy New Year, all!
