Christmas Eve

I'm sure I'll be on-line at least a wee bit tomorrow, between the cooking and the baking and the afternoon luncheon I'm hostessing, but in the meantime, an early Merry Christmas to you!
Today, I'm cleaning the house for said luncheon before I start getting ready for Christmas Eve service at the church we've been attending. I think we'll get dinner--at one of the Indian restaurants, if I have my way--on the way home.
Tomorrow will be a morning in the kitchen in prep for the aforementioned luncheon. Tomorrow night will be packing for . . .
. . . traveling to Ohio on Friday. Nine hours by myself in the car. I figure it's research for those long days of travel Dean had when he was hunting solo. I'll have to load up on music, and Geo, at
kalquessa's suggestion and my request, got me a Blue Tooth, so I could call and harass people while I'm driving through the West Virginia mountains. I'm hoping not to run into too bad of weather. Sheesh.
Will spend the night at Li'l Bro's, then the two of us will leave on Saturday for Michigan. This might be the last time we see my aunt, as her prognosis is not good. Otoh, she's not dead yet, and doctors are only human. So it's a balancing act. What do you say to someone whom you're seeing for the last time without treating them like they're already gone?
Then we return to Ohio on Sunday. I'll stay Monday so that my mom and dad can come visit. And I'll return to Virginia on Tuesday (yes, another 9+ hours on the road by my lonesome).
A strange, strange holiday, and I think I'm already looking forward to the new year.
So, a warm and blessed Christmas to you. Health, happiness, joy, and purpose. And a fantastic New Year!
And to those in the midst of celebrating Hanukkah, a blessed and happy holiday to you!

Date: 2008-12-26 11:21 am (UTC)We all die; that's the way of things. But she says she doesn't feel like she's dying, so I hope she doesn't go until she's ready. If that makes sense.
*hugs*
