Greetings, all!

The Road So Far . . .  )

Now . . .

As you might guess from the above narrative, we’ve paid our adoption fees in full to the agency. However, in order to apply for monies we will need for his infant and toddler development therapy, we’re having to go through an additional court hearing, which will incur additional costs (it's all explained on our fundraiser page). We’re asking for help in covering those court costs. Please consider donating to our fundraising project, or listing our project as your charity of choice when you shop at select retailers. We're using Pure Charity for the fundraiser (search using the key word "legal fees"). Money you donate will go directly to the adoption agency (a 501(c)3 non-profit, meaning your donation is tax deductible. Check with your tax advisor). If you'd like the direct link to our fundraiser, please let me know.

Thanks so much!

So.

The other day, I was telling gluisa88 how much great fic was written during S3 and the S3/S4 hiatus. There was such a wide variety. It was a season and a summer of angst and dread and desperation and anxiety, and an occasional glimpse of hope. Would Sam save Dean from the deal? What would happen if he didn't? Would Dean go to Hell? Would Sam get him out? (Of course he would!) How would Sam get Dean out? What if he didn't get Dean out? Would Dean come back? Would Dean come back as a demon?!? (A fate too horrible to even think about.)

The way show dealt with it was totally unexpected, and I about bounced off the couch with excitement, but there were some excellent, heartrending fics written in the meantime. There was even, iirc, a humor one that particularly delighted me.

I miss having fic to look forward to. )

Apparently, yes )

The pumpkin pie is in the oven, so I'm sitting down a moment to type of the BBQ recipe for [livejournal.com profile] kimmer1227

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it: Find icons.

I spent part of the day searching LJ comms, but I didn't get very far and couldn't find anything that really jumped out and spoke to me. Which is why I'm asking the more skilled searchers among you.

For those of you who enjoy a challenge, I'm looking for Addams Family icons. Preferably from the 60s TV series starring John Astin and Carolyn Jones, though if you happen to run across any from the Broadway musical with Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth, I'd love to take a look. Original Charles Addams cartoons might be good, too.

Oh! And speaking of artwork, if anyone can point me in the direction of Edward Gorey icons, that would be awesome.

Needing some icons or stills of Jensen playing/singing "The Weight" from the Rome convention. Any good links y'all can point me to?
feliciakw: (Jensen promo)
I'm probably opening a big, freakin', HUGE can of worms here, but I'm in need of some cheering up, and I need help narrowing down my selection for a project. So to that end, would you care to share your favorite picture of Jensen? Specifically of Jensen--not Dean or Alec or his other characters (meaning I'd prefer something other than stills)--though behind the scenes and candids would be good. Cons, promos, publicity appearances, bts, candids, it's all good.

You can post 'em here or post links to them.

TIA for the cheer.

Different from the wish list (which is no longer a public post), I'm hoping some of my f-list can provide or point me in the direction of some good Christmas icons. Fannish (and Peanuts) Christmas icons are fine and dandy, but I'd kind of like an actual Christmas icon or two.

Also? Now that we actually have an angel in SPN, I'd love for someone to write, as [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha describes it: "Realistic Christmas fic using or somehow involving “The Peace Carol.” Points if it’s not actually a songfic, but still uses the lyrics/song in a prominent way; double points if the fic takes place during TV canon (no flashbacks)."

It struck me last year (being newly introduced to SPN) when I was playing through my piano music, that The Peace Carol totally fits the Winchester boys. Izhi and I had batted around a loose plot line, based on what we knew at the time. But now that there actually is an angel in the show, I think it could work . . . even better?

Anyway, yeah.

Hey, gang. Got a request for ya. If any of you all have mad icon-making skillz, I'd like to request an SPN icon using the following quote:

What kind of house doesn't have salt? Low-sodium freaks!

It is a throw-away line for "Provenance," and it cracks me up every time. Just goes to show what sort of everyday circumstances can hinder a hunt.

Feel free to play with the punctuation, too. Because Sam was definitely under stress when he delivered the line.

I'd like to have The Boys included in the icon, but it's not necessary. It can be text only. In fact, that might work better. Dunno. It can be animated, flashing back and forth between the sentences or whatever.

I originally asked [livejournal.com profile] kalquessa to put this on her (very long) to-do list, but I don't want to overtax her, especially since she's been kind enough to pinch-hit beta for me recently. Cheese Elf? You can still put this in the icon hopper; I just wanted to put it out there for others to play with if they wanted to.

Many muchas thanks to anyone taking on the request.

I'll try to have another transcript of Still Life up by the end of the week.
