I might write in a little more detail about a couple of things when I re-watch. Like how the soft focus of Sam's memory gave it a dreamlike quality, and I can't help wondering if maybe he's remembering things better than they really were. Or how he seemed rather panicked when he couldn't find Amelia, like he thought she might have been snatched by a supernatural nasty.
The end left me feeling a little weird. A little sad for Dean, because the part of him that has always wanted a family (not "normal," but a family of his own) seems to be . . . forgotten. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for Dean's enthusiasm at being behind the wheel tracking a case. It's just . . . there's always been more to him than that, and I miss those multiple facets right now. But I'm sure that's probably just me.
And Sam . . . well, part of me kind of wants Dean to tell Sam to go back and have his normal life, and go on about the hunt. Wouldn't that be angsty, if Benny is the one who out of the blue shows up at Sam's with the Impala, explaining that returning it to Sam was Dean's last wish, and that Dean was mortally wounded on a hunt because he was flying solo. He called Benny, but Benny couldn't get there in time. Dean bled out, you see. Benny conveniently neglects, however, to tell Sam that Benny offered to turn Dean, and though Dean refused, since he was going to bleed out anyway, he told Benny to have at, because if there's one thing Dean Winchester does well, it's bleed so his family can survive.
Obviously, I'm not feeling too bad for Sam right now. :-/
More (hopefully positive) thoughts after I re-watch.
