Have you ever noticed how much the words Wal-Mart and Voldemort sound alike? I think there's a connection there.

Wal-Mart has got to be the most unpleasant shopping experience in my little corner of Virginia. I mean, I wasn't overly fond of the Wal-Mart back in Ohio, but the one here? Makes the one in Ohio feel like a walk through the park. It's always really, really crowded, and nobody pays attention to what anyone else is doing, hence one is apt (as I almost did) to get run over by someone's shopping cart. And the parking lot is like playing bumper cars at the fair. The lot itself isn't very user friendly, and then you get a whole bunch of "Wal-Martians" driving their oversized pick-up trucks and SUVs in the narrow aisles and small spaces, and it's way more stress than it's worth. Tomorrow I'm going to write to Food Lion and tell them that if they just carried items A and B, I'd have no pressing need to go to Wal-Mart at all.

I played the piano for church today. Geo assures me that I did fine, and several people expressed their gratitude, but it's been well on 15 years since I've played for an audience, let alone as an accompanist, and my hands were shaking so badly. On the up side, I was so nervous, I didn't feel the cut on my thumb. And today was the easy songs. Next week are the songs in 12/8 and 9/8 time that I'm going to have to dissect and re-count in 3's.

Random aside: [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha, would it not be totally awesome and canon-based if Don's sekrit math skill actually were music? It's already helped him crack one case.
