A couple of interesting details here. First, Danneel is listed as "Danneel Ackles" and "Danneel Harris Ackles." This makes me wonder if it was just for this event, or if she's going to use her married name professionally. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she didn't, but I'd be rather impressed if she did.

Also, I've often noticed that Jensen wears a chain under his shirt (I've noticed this in con pix). I'm really curious what kind of pendant he wears. (For as long as I can remember, my dad always, always wears a cross pendant. So I don't find it unusual at all. I'm just really, really curious.)

Also? Some adorable pics of the boys, and the boys and their women.

There was the usual hater wank about the name change. She's listed as "Ackles" on IMDB and a few other places.

There's lots of great pics out, and even a couple vids. I wonder how long it'll take Paley to release the official one.

I thought there was a story that Jensen had a friend die in a car accident in high school or it was a friend from high school and his friends decided to get tatoos to remember him by, but Jensen, because of the acting, decided he would instead wear a necklace (I'm assuming there's some kind of charm or symbol on the necklace).

I don't know where I read this or if it's the same necklace.

Now that you say that, I seem to remember reading about the tattoo thing. Don't remember the part about the necklace, but that makes sense. Inquiring minds want to know.

I should ask if my dad still wears his pendant. I just remember it being so much a part of him when I was growing up.

The boys match! They called each other to make sure (in my head).

I don't see the big deal about the name change. Most non-famous people change their last name to that of the groom. Maybe it's taboo in Hollywood or something.

Also, Danneel....green top, yellow skirt, blue shoes? What? I'd prefer you wore clothes that matched. At least a little.

I like that the photographer took pics of the ladies shoes. I am a shoe lover. Though I could never wear either of the pictured shoes. Especially Gen's. I'd fall on my ass in heels that high.

ETA: I was totally right! They did call each other and plan their outfits! Jensen says so in an interview at the press line. This makes me unreasonably happy!

Ha! If the watermark name on the picture is any indication the photographer is a lady, which totally explains the randomness of the shoe pics. (You go, lady photog!)

I think that the majority of women in Hollywood keep their maiden or stage names for professional reasons, to keep themselves recognizable as the same person they were before. Less confusion when a casting director is looking at resumes and head shots, so they don't seem like a "new" person. If that makes sense. I don't know; it might also be the culture in H'wood.

Her outfit was a bold choice. I'll give her that. Striking colors, and blue and yellow do make green. Not something I'd choose, though I do love the color of her top.

It makes sense to me, the reasoning they called and "coordinated"--"Let's suit up"--but what I find really amusing is that even within that general statement, they're both open-collared. They know each other way too well. No ties for them.

There's also the matter of the guilds. I'm not entirely sure on the rules, but I imagine it'd be a PITA to change your name on all that paperwork. I mean, it's hard enough to get a stage name that that someone hasn't already picked--an actor friend of mine had to take on a fake last name because there's already an actor using his real last one. Also, isn't Harris *already* a stage name of sorts?

That makes a lot of sense, too. And yes, I've heard of actors having to choose fake names because their real name is already taken. I believe that's why Michael J. Fox had to put the "J" in there.

And there's another very famous one that George has told me about, but for the life of me, I can't remember who it is.

Yes, "Harris" is a stage name. Her real maiden name is "Graul." And it kinda tells you how Jensen has taken over my fannish brain that I even know that.

I know everyone's just tickled to pieces that J&J coordinated. But I'm a little disappointed that I haven't seen any comments regarding the fact that Jim and Misha match with their dark shirts and ties.

I saw some press photos elsewhere (Getty and WireImage) but they didn't include the ladies. So nice to see the guys with their wives, especially the two shots of all four together. Thanks for sharing the link!
