I don't have much to say about this one right now. It was too depressing. And kinda hurt. A lot.

Otoh, I had victory arms \o/ when I saw the preview for next week, because according to the preview, I WAS RIGHT!!!!!! (Now, you gotta understand that I'm not often right about such developments, so I take my victories where I can. And I'm takin' this one. I talked about this at length with someone in RL, though I never went into much detail in the ol' LJ.)

ETA (11:57pm ET) . . . Well, apparently even if this ep kinda ripped my heart out and left me numb (no, Sam, not your kind of numb), I'm ready to re-watch it to catch what I might have missed. I might not have a blow-by-blow commentary for it, but there were some interesting points raised (Dean is now in tune with the angelic world?) that will need some pondering and maybe keep my mind off the mess that Dean's life with Lisa and Ben has become.

Man, I hope they choose to fix that. But in all honesty? At this point, I'm not holding my breath.

The whaling on Sam? I felt Dean's frustration with every blow. I don't know. I just wanted to say, Feel THAT, bitch!

Dean's loss so damn much. Guh!

I thought the beatdown was warrented, but the timing was off. He needed to do that last week to Smack the Smirk off Sam's face. Or even when Sam first showed up and admitted with just a shrug that he'd beed topside for a year and was just now getting around to telling Dean.

This? Right when Sam admitted everything and that he needed help? It felt out of place. And yet... well it's understandable. Poor Dean had a lot of pent up rage.

I'm not as worried about the Lisa thing. I think they just need a break. I'm betting one way or another he winds up back in her arms in the end.

The timing might have felt off, but it actually made sense. In addition to everything building up to the point of explosion, Dean now knew that Sam has been lying to him every time he said, "I'm fine." "I've got your back"? Apparently not. And Sam worked it, purposefully or not, that Dean has (currently) lost Lisa.

So the timing of the beatdown didn't surprise me. This confession, "I've been lying to you, and by the way, I know I should but I actually don't care if you or Lisa or Ben die as a means to an end," was the last straw.

It's the beating Sam to the point of unconsciousness that bothers me. We haven't seen Dean's anger this out of control in . . . well . . . ever, have we?
