Your morning photos
Jun. 9th, 2010 07:46 amI know nothing about golf, but the golfer seems to know what he's doing. Is 81 good?
This right here is why I'd like to spend a day on a professional TV (or movie) set. Just to see how things are done in "the real world." (Long story.)
In other news, I have a long skit/short play I need to learn in about two weeks. Once again, my shaky confidence will be looking at Jensen (or thinking back to The Threepenny Opera) and going "This is how it's supposed to be done." More on that in a separate post.

Date: 2010-06-09 04:30 pm (UTC)My husband only played "real" golf once, at a charity benefit of some sort for work. Afterward he said he will only golf if there's a big clown head on the course. (My internal response--which might have become external--was, "You mean besides you?")
(Geo loves putt-putt, but hates real golf.)

Date: 2010-06-09 02:24 pm (UTC)Being on-set is definitely a learning experience! My first visit was to the M*A*S*H set back in '77 - it was a scene of choppers landing nearby, so the cast had to run to meet them and do triage. BUT...we were indoors, where they'd laid dirt on top of plywood to simulate the outdoors. And when everyone ran in their heavy boots, the sound man said it came out like thunder on the soundtrack. In the final take, everyone ran in their socks. :)

Date: 2010-06-09 06:44 pm (UTC)After a particularly trying day, I asked Geo, "If I can survive working on this, I could survive on a real movie set, right?" His response: "Absolutely."
Shortly after the shoot was finished and things got back to normal, I was watching some of the bts/table read stuff for XF (on the DVD extras). Kim Manners, of course, being an important presence. I turned to Geo and told him, "Watching this makes me want to work on a set where everyone knows what they're doing."
