The following vid-spam is courtesy of animotus.

And, hey. Girlyghoul? If you're reading this, definitely check out the 3rd vid. I think you'll appreciate it.

Found these vids and had to share. They're not so much of the OHEMGEEIdidn'tthinkitwaspossibletolovehimanymorebutIdo!!!! variety, but rather of the "See? SEE???? This is why I love this guy!" variety.

He is such a charmer. And I love to hear him talk about his art. More on that later.

I believe Jensen would agree with me when I say: VAMPIRES DO NOT SPARKLE!!! IT'S JUST WRONG! . . .

I am also highly amused that Jensen and I seem to share similar opinions about the show on some levels.

I think everyone knows "Monster Movie" is one of my favorite eps, right?

One of the things I find attractive in a person is when he or she has a love and a passion for what they do. If I happen to share that love, so much the better. (Sometimes watching Jensen makes me wish I'd had the confidence and the courage to pursue my acting more seriously.)

This next clip brings to mind a question that recurs to me quite often, and one I've touched on before. But the question itself is a whole 'nother post.

My available listening options have become much more eclectic since I got married, and my knowledge of classic rock has definitely been expanded. (Geo's the one who usually explains the classic rock in-jokes to me.)

And I'm just including this one because Jensen is charming and adorable and humble and genuine and all those other things people rave about. Blah, blah, blah. Yada ,yada, yada.

Also, all the cast members of SPN seem like fairly awesome people. (Jared left before the end of the con. Hence, he's not in this clip. But I think we all know that he's fairly awesome, too.)

From the enthusiasm of the cast, do you think the overseas conventions and fans are more respectful of the actors? Maybe not quite as obsessed?

For the cast to be talking backstage how great the convention and crowd is, you wonder what is making it different? The questions sounded very respectful and introspective.

Having never been to a con, I don't know the atmosphere. But this one looked to be very relaxed.
Just wondering.

I've not been to any SPN cons, or foreign cons, so I can only answer based on my impression. And my impression is that yes, the guys seem more relaxed at foreign cons. It makes me kind of sad that American cons seem to be more . . . intense for them, maybe. Not as well behaved? More entitled? I really don't know. And I'm thrilled that the con was a good experience for them.

But it makes me kind of sad that American cons don't have the same reputation for relaxedness and (dare I say?) respect.

You know what else I'll bet has a lot to do with it? How well the con is organized. I haven't heard anything about this con being organized poorly (in contrast to last year's Asylum, which by most reports was very poorly organized and overworked the actors terribly). Creation has conventions down to a science, I think, but those cons are also so freakin' huge that some of the relaxedness (yes, I'm totally making that a word) is lost.

Also? Being able to couple the con with vacation time I'm sure makes it that much better. With American cons, the guys are in and out within a day. But with the foreign cons, they usually (apparently) make a whole trip out of it. And getting paid for foreign travel, promoting something you love, and finding out how much your work is appreciated outside your own country? What's not to love about that?

I would think the size would be a concern as well. A large scale production where you are being rushed from one panel to another to autographs to this to that would be tiring.

A small more intimate con that's also well organized and is more laid back would be great.

We have a more frenzied, fast pace country..and like you said to fly in on red eye -- then back after 48 hours is tiring.

Marvelous! Thank you for sharing these.

I have to admit, the idea of "International Hunters" has come up and been toyed with in various IM discussions - and it's been pointed out that Europe could well have a "Van Helsing" type organization working out of Rome.

Rome doesn't like to talk about their school for exorcism - why would they talk about their hunters?

Japan has several anime about the Onmyojin - families with the ability to see and to speak to the various ghosts and spirits; they try to calm and send them on to their final rest more than just "salt and burn." Plus, Japan acknowledges the idea of demons and devils that aren't entirely evil and the "hanyou" which are humans with demon blood.

Pre-Communist China had whole monesteries of monks and priests who cast out demons with sutras of the Buddah.

Islam recognizes "the jann" and "ifrits" and have their stories of immans who argue and battle such beings just like the old legends of Jewish rabbis fight ghosts (the Corpse Bride was originally a Jewish legend of a bride who comes back from the dead like a zombie and the Rabbi argues that since she's dead, the law no longer recognizes her marriage to a living man).

*sigh* The only way it could work would be an animated series and they'd probably insist the boys travel around with a talking dog. . .

You're very welcome. They're worth sharing. :-)

The thing I wish they'd have done on the show (I need to add this to my wish list for S6) isn't so much from another country per se, but from another culture. I'd love to see them do something with a golem. I read a really good golem fic a while back, and it would be cool if they did something like that.
