Well, I wasn't sure about the beginning of the new year, because the broadcast we watched of the Rose Bowl Parade (my favorite parade of the year) was rather disappointing. NBC didn't give commentary on how the floats were made, and they didn't show the OSU marching band in the parade, either. (And I missed OU, also.)

BUT . . .

The Bucks beat the Ducks 26 - 17! I'm not into football, but this was a good game to watch, and a good start to the year.

I bet Columbus is going NUTS right now.

Now for a late dinner of pork kielbasa and sauerkraut.

I learned a few years ago that the best coverage if you want to see bands and floats and get coherent commentary is on HGTV on cable. I saw not only the OSU and OU band, but even the marchers from the school for the blind in Columbus.

Oh, and I hope you and George have a great New Year! ;-)

I did get to see the HS for the blind marching band. That was cool.

HGTV absolutely has the best coverage, and that's what we've watched for the past several years. But we got rid of satellite last year, since our favorite first-run shows are on broadcast TV, and we could easily give up what we watched on satellite in order to save $60+ a month. We live in the 21st century, and we've gone back to antenna television (on which we get 22 HD channels). Go figure.

I think maybe ABC had better coverage. We'll have to see next year. *nods*

Also, yay! My parents had friends that flew in for the event, so I'm glad they got a good game.

Um . . . well, I think it ended, maybe, 8:45pm my time. So . . . 5:45pm your time, I guess?

UC (University of Cincinnati) is playing in the Sugar Bowl, but I don't know when that's playing. Right now, I think, but one football game is enough for me.
