Copperhead opening
Jun. 29th, 2013 10:00 amLast night, we were one of only a handful of movie theaters that premiered the movie Copperhead, the third Civil War movie by director Ron Maxwell, who directed Gettysburg and Gods and Generals. We also had the privilege of having the director present for a Q&A and meet-and-greet after the movie.
I didn't get to watch the movie (was working, so my attention was elsewhere), but everyone who came said it was a really, really good movie. George worked as the projectionist, and he had some really amazing compliments for the director. You don't have to have seen the previous movies (which is good, because I haven't), but I hope I can watch it during the encore screening we're doing tomorrow.
Also, it was a very successful night for us financially, which is good. I hope things continue in this direction. We're recovering some from fairly egregious mismanagement, but hopefully things will be under control in the next few months.
