To keep me busy between now and Thursday, I pulled out Jensen's season of
Smallville (the only season I own or have even seen any part of), and I've come to some conclusions.
First, I think I mentioned a long while back that when I discovered Jane Seymour was playing Jensen's mother, I was very impressed. Although I'm not a "fan," Jane Seymour has always left me with a positive vibe. I first saw her when I was a child watching the original
Battlestar Galactica. She played Serena, Boxy's widowed mother who fell in love with and married Apollo (and shortly thereafter, gets killed). I've never been able to bring myself to watch
Somewhere In Time, but I've always heard good things about it. My Aunt J2 was a fan of
Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. But what really impressed me was when Ms. Seymour was part of our public library's speaker series when I worked at the PAC. She seemed to genuinely enjoy her time with her audience, and she was a very interesting person to listen to. She was having such a good time talking to the audience and answering questions, in fact, that she ran over her allotted hour and we kind of had to pull her from the stage.
And as Jensen said at a con a while back, she's an older woman, and she played his mother, but . . . I believe his exact words were . . . "damn, is she sexy." She seems to be aging gracefully, and I hope I age as well.
So when I was speeding through SV (because really? The show holds zero interest for me, though some of the actors turned in good performances, and I rather liked some of the supporting characters), I'd watch Jensen's stuff, of course, and Jane's. And when they were on screen together? I really liked the interaction between the actors.
Now, the interaction between the characters? That's another story.
( It would have been a completely different show )
