My first Q&A panel
May. 18th, 2009 08:09 amYesterday, Geo and I got to see his movie, My Mummy, on the big screen at the Dayton Film Festival. Afterward, there was a panel with all the cast/production crew that was there. The panel included Geo (actor, co-writer, and co-director), the DP, the guy who played the mummy, our co-producer (who did so much more than that title seems to imply), and myself (wardrobe supervisor and voice-over work). No one asked me any questions, of course (because people interested in the process of filmmaking don't seem to be interested in costuming), but Co-Producer gave me the opportunity to describe my experiences a little bit. Geo says I was the most articulate of anyone on the panel, but I think maybe he was just trying to make me feel better. What we had to do might not sound interesting, but my costumer and I were the most organized department there, and JT at one point did tell me that costumes were the one thing he knew he didn't have to worry about. Costumer even told me at one point that I'd missed my calling, and I should have been a costumer. (I prefer acting, but costuming--as a closely related component to character development--is something I often get involved in anyway.)
Anyway . . .
And afterward, Geo actually met a fan who listens to his radio show, Filmically Perfect. (You can check it out by clicking the link or finding it on iTunes.
So that was kinda cool.
Oh, and my niece got married this weekend. Which means a reception. Which means dancing! Woo hoo!
