So. You know something I noticed? Dean is not afraid to sleep with his arm hanging off the edge of the bed. I know people who don't hunt ghosts for a living who are afraid to sleep with their arm hanging over the bed.

Also? The boys (especially Dean, but I might be biased) look good in their clerical duds. Even if Sam's hair is a little long to make the costume 100% convincing.

Plus Dean snacking on the cocktail dogs is hilarious.

Also also? What is that contraption that Dean searches the upstairs with? Subtle it ain't. And I don't think we ever see it again. Is that the thermal scanner he mentions later? Must be homemade.

Also x3? Dean cleaning and reassembling the guns. Because the proficiency with which he does so is awesome.

Then there's Sam, and his realizations and turn-arounds regarding John. When Max tells Sam that his own father looked at him with hate in his eyes, and he asks Sam if Sam knows what that's like . . . Sam's answer is an honest, heartfelt "No." And he tells Dean, "We were lucky to have Dad. . . . A little more tequila, a little less demon hunting, we could have had Max's childhood." Oh, he might still harbor hard feelings that John is still missing, but he seems to be coming around.

Also x4 . . . Sam is, once again, well established as the brother who does not kill humans. He refused to kill Roy when they thought Roy was controlling the reaper, and he refuses to end Max. While Dean doesn't see it in terms of whether or not the perpetrator is human, but whether or not the perpetrator is using supernatural for evil purposes. This clear delineation between the brothers' approaches will change later. But here we see it in its original state.

And then there's Dean. Trying to figure out what's going on with Sam and the headache visions. Assuring Sam with confidence that he's not freaked by it and as long as he's around, nothing bad is going to happen to Sam. And the way Jensen plays it . . . a brave front, but when Sam's not looking, the doubt that creeps into his eyes.

(And of course this ep also has the great story about the squib shot that had to be cut.)

I *cannot* sleep with a hand hanging over the edge of the bed. Or a foot. Or anything. Just plain Does. Not. Happen. My dad says the same thing. (So I probably got it from him.)

Father Dean and the cocktail wienies will never not be funny.

That's why i never be Dean *sigh* I don't afraid to sleep like this. I just don't do that. For many reasons i can't explain *giggles*
