Tonight's SPN (4.18)
Apr. 23rd, 2009 10:10 pmWe made it to Bro's in time, and because he's awesome, I got to watch SPN in widescreen and HD tonight! The excitement was a little distracting, and I'm still absorbing . . . um . . .
everything, from hardcore hunter Sammy to Dean coming to terms with Adam having what Dean never did, to the bleeding Sam on the table *cringe* . . . It's just . . . a lot to absorb. I think I felt just as betrayed as Dean did. And I found it an interesting bit of information when Sam said John was no monk.
But the very end kinda gutted me. And my comment was that this show gets more and more uncomfortable each week.
And next week? AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111ELEVENTYELEVEN11!!!
ETA: The shout outs. Geo laughed most heartily at the Cousin Oliver's Diner (or whatever it was). And they Kim Manners standie card in the motel. (Was it the Kim Manners Motel? The local CW scrolly stuff covered much of it.)

Date: 2009-04-24 02:44 am (UTC)Me too. I think Dean finally salted and burned his rose colored glasses where John and Sam are concerned. Damn, that man breaks my heart.

Date: 2009-04-24 05:14 am (UTC)This ep was full of ick for me. BUT I also loved Dean's arc, and yeah the rose-coloured glasses coming off for whatever that's worth... but seeing Sam act so much like his Dad, quoting back stuff was hard.
My worst moment in watching this was poor Dean with that line "He took you to a baseball game?" Ugh. Heartbreak. And yeah. Dean breaks my heart. I want to hug him.
YES I did see Kim Manners card too. Nice touch, crew.
What was the preview? Eleventyeleven what? Huh? I don't get previews here for some reason :(
Re: ramblededramble
Date: 2009-04-24 10:46 am (UTC)Yes, the baseball game line hurt.
Preview: Now, remember, PAL: Previews Always Lie. BUT, apparently next ep, we get to meet Castiel's vessel, because Cas gets sent home. BZUH???? Dean is losing everything that's ever grounded him in his life, and now CAS gets recalled to HQ? As I wrote elsewhere, I would not be surprised if after he stops the apocalypse, Dean just collapses and dies from the shear exhaustion of a broke heart.
*hugs Dean and nevernevernever lets go*

Date: 2009-04-24 03:38 pm (UTC)It's not just you. I expected that to actually come into play in the dialogue, especially since they went to the trouble of having Girl Ghoul say that Sam "tastes different." Also, wow, I hope Dean took Sammy to the ER, because I don't see him able to properly repair veins that have been SLIT DOWN THEIR LENGTH OMG. O_o
Re: ramblededramble
Date: 2009-04-24 05:17 pm (UTC)I really want Sam to come back around. I feel like he's so far down the bad path he's not coming back and there needs to be some kind of major intervention or breakthrough somehow. But how??
Also, DEAN! *HUGSTIGHT* Indeed. He needs SOMEthing good to happen for once, seriously. SERIOUSLY.

Date: 2009-04-24 07:27 pm (UTC)Oh, Kim. I fully expect Sam to go bad. I've been preparing myself for it all season, so it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. When did he lose his faith? I think a lot of it was definitely Dean going to Hell, but even then when Dean came back and told Sam that an angel pulled him out (think back to 4.2, "Are You There, God . . . ), Sam was still optimistic. "You got saved by one of the good guys. This isn't just another round of demon crap." Then in "It's the Great Pumpkin . . . ," he met not only Castiel, but Uriel as well, who of course, had nothing but distain for the entire human race. So his bubble was burst in that regard. Then Cas and Uriel kidnapped Dean and made him torture Alistair. I think Sam is not seeing any sort of divine intervention in their struggle, and his brother is paying the price, and he thinks he's doing good with his demon powers, so . . . yeah, Sam is confused, and feeling helpless, and the addiction he's feeding is going to go so very, very wrong.
I might be back after the weekend to do my review, or I might not. But there are some very interesting points that I thought I heard last night, but I can't be sure until I re-watch without distraction.
