A few final thinky thoughts before S6

As we're approaching the beginning of S6, I'm not really looking for long, drawn out discussion here, just floating something that occurred to me recently. (Comments of course are welcome. It's just that spirited debate probably won't be forthcoming).
ETA: Some of my post got lost, it appears. *sigh* Re-created to add.
So, in "99 Problems," Sam, Dean, and Cas agreed that none of them qualified as a "true servant of Heaven," and therefore recruited the pastor to gank the baddie. However, when all appeared lost, and Baddie was throttling Dean, Dean came through in the clutch and offed the villain, thus making everybody go O.o . Only a true servant of Heaven could get the job done, and Dean was successful.
I figure that the ganking coincided with Dean's decision to seek out Michael, BUT there's something that Dean didn't realize about himself.
He's always been a servant of Heaven.
Why do I say this? Because Dean's motives have always been in the right place. He's never hunted out of revenge; it's always been about saving people. He's sacrificed himself for his family. He's put himself on the line for his friends. He does his utmost to keep families together. Saving people and defeating evil is what he does. Protecting and taking care of people (especially those important to him) is who he is.
That's not to say he's morally upright. He's a philanderer (or he was. Maybe Lisa has made an honest man of him) and a con man and a thief. But moral uprightness is not necessarily a requirement for doing God's work. The Bible is full of sinners who played a part of God's plan. (And since we're all sinners, none of us can claim perfection.)
But given how far back Dean has been told that God had an important job for him to do (and he wasn't finished--see "Faith"), it follows through that Dean is a servant of Heaven.
I know, I know. Nothing profound or earth-shattering there. And the words came together much better in my head than they did in this entry. It was just one of those interesting things that came to me as I was making my way through the end of S5 on my way to FRIDAY!!!!! NEW SHOW ON FRIDAY!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
