My Mummy reviews
Aug. 30th, 2008 07:01 amWell, it's been . . . interesting . . . searching for reviews to indicate that the movie is out there. Turns out that the most reviews can be found on the piracy/illegal download sites. Unfortunately. But I just can't get worked up about that, because no amount of anger is going to change the reality of video piracy.
However, there's a good review of the movie on Amazon.com, and there are two positives and two negatives on Netflix. What I find most curious is that there are zero . . . nada, zip, zilch . . . reviews on IMDB.
So as a friendly request: if you do watch the movie, please post a review in a public and oft-frequented venue, such as Amazon or IMDB. Netflix is good, too, if that's where you got the movie from. I'm not asking for good reviews here, I'm asking for honest reviews. But if you could give specifics of why you liked or didn't like the movie, that's always appreciated. (
mlevins wrote a nicely detailed review for her LJ. Thanks, Mare!)
We did have one surprise good review at a site called I Can Smell Your Brains. I do not vouch for the content on the site, so proceed with caution.
I knew when we were making this movie that the humor in it would only appeal to a limited portion of the population. But it is so nice to run across someone who actually gets it.
