The Rhythm of Life
Well,
Here's what's been going on lately.
Nov. 7 - my baby nephew was born. Li'l Bro has sent some pictures, and the new li'l squeaker is quite adorable. We'll get to see him at Thanksgiving.
Nov. 11 - Geo and I celebrated our 17th anniversary. The weather was gorgeous. We spent an overnight in Winchester, at the George Washington Hotel. It was very nice. We ate dinner at Union Jack's (yum!) and walked the pedestrian mall. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and took a dip in the pool. Very nice.
The next morning we went back to shop on the mall. We had breakfast in a little diner, Swirl's, then checked some of the shops. They have a really great family owned shoe store, and I got some new dress boots that I'd been looking at in a catalogue.
Unfortunately, most of Virginia closes on Mondays, so none of the history-type stuff we could stop at was open.
We also stopped at the Apple Blossom Mall on the way home, just to see what they had.
Yesterday (Nov. 13), I took the second half of a cake decorating class I signed up for. Cake decorating is not a good hobby for someone with blood sugar issues. Just FYI.
I've also started a Beth Moore Bible study on the book of James. I'm very excited about it, because James has kind of fascinated me for a while, and he's been kind of lurking in the back of my mind this year, especially after the pastor quoted the passage in I Corinthians 15, when Jesus appeared to his half-brother James. Can you imagine the reunion? James, little brother and second (male) in birth order behind Jesus, who didn't believe Jesus' claims of divinity, who knew his brother was dead, has his brother appear to him, bodily, in the flesh, because he needed it? I love Beth Moore studies, because she delves into who these folks were as people. Not just names on a page, but real people, who had real lives and real experiences and real emotions. It's just so exciting to me!
I also have a hefty personal e-mail or two to reply to (no, GLuisa, I haven't forgotten you), but with the shorter days, I find myself tired by the time I get home from work and the sun goes down.
As it is, I've got some chores I should attend to right now.
Enjoy Show tonight! I'm liking the season thus far, and looking forward to tonight's ep.

That sounds like a fantastic study- there's so much that, growing up in a Christian home, you *know* about Jesus and the Bible but doesn't really sink in until you hear someone else's perspective- like that thing about Jesus appearing to his half-brother- sometimes it's easy to forget about Jesus' humanity. I love anything that delves into that :)
Have you ever tried making cake pops? My sister is really big into cake decorating so I bought her a cake pop kit for Christmas- I'm hoping she likes it :) I was just thinking that if you enjoy cake decorating you might enjoy something like that :)
