Verse help?

Hey, gang. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I could swear--I mean, I'm 99% sure--there's a passage in the NT wherein Paul (at least, I think it's Paul. It sounds like something Paul would say) says something to the effect that he would rather trade his own salvation than see his flock stray. Or something like that. But none of my word searches in my concordance are helping. Can someone point me to that verse?

Thanks muchly!

OMG I totally know what verse you're referencing but I can't think of where it is. *runs away to hunt for it on BibleGateway.com*

Ha! Romans 9:1-4. (At least I assume this is what you're looking for.)

"1I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it in the Holy Spirit— 2I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, 4the people of Israel."

I know what you're talking about, he's referring to the Jews. Can't for the life of me remember the passage... is it in Romans?

::digs out concordance::

Can't find it either. Grrr.
