I watched the last half hour upstairs in bed - and I was flailing in bed! Which is not really conducive to falling quietly asleep, but I HAD to.
You know - I honestly don't get the whole McGarrett-Danny thing. Of course I don't slash them, but their relationship is NOT the best part of that show for me. It's a very small consideration. I love the whole team (including Cuz who sells the shave ice), and now with Masi Oka... MAN.
I like the McGarrett-Danno thing. I like the way they play off each other, and how diametrically opposed they are to each other. Of course, I do feel like I've been a leeeeettle bit spoiled by the way J&J play off each other, because it's like J&J have their own private language going on that we get to watch, but I can go along with the Steve-n-Danno here. (The writing sometimes feels out of nowhere, though.)
Yes, I like the entire team very much. And how each individual on the team relates to each other as individuals. And now with Steve's former trainer on the show, I like him, too.
And MAX!!! He was a minor recurring last year, and THIS YEAR HE'S IN THE OPENING CREDITS!!!! Geo and I both gasped in pleasant surprise when that popped up. I love Max (Masi Oka) very much. George would so hang out at his house.
I'm glad they're not writing Grace and Rachel out, though I am a wee bit disappointed with Rachel's choice to go back to Stan. Was kinda liking the reconciliation Danny and Rachel had going.
But dude. Non-stop action from beginning to end. I've got theories. I've got flailing. I'm just all a-flail.
(I also need to find me a H50 icon. And more icon space.)
I'm good with Danno as an individual character. And I'm okay with Steve - but, you know, I think he's my least favorite character of the whole bunch. He just doesn't do anything for me. (Let's say "He's not somebody I think I'd want to hang out with.") So it wildly perplexes me that people see so much in that relationship that they want to slash it. (But then, I am wildly perplexed by Dean/Cas, too.)
Yes, I was disappointed about the Rachel situation! Cheap cop-out, much? Why create that whole spin for the season finale, then drop it? *tsks at the writers*
I love Masi Oka. Some weeks he was the only good thing about HEROES for me. I'm delighted that he's a regular now.
And man, that closing scene! I almost stood up in bed to flail.
