You know what?

I was writing something today (just personal ponderings), and I ended up writing about one of the reasons I really like Jensen Ackles.

Jensen is a "mom." Well, not really a mom, of course, but a caregiver. He takes care of his friends. And he does it without thinking.

It's automatic.

When Jared does something dumb like chew gum and drink coffee, Jensen gives up his coffee lid (specifically starting at 2:48):

When Jared breaks his chair, Jensen trades chairs with him (specifically starting at 1:18):

And when Misha needs his collar tucked in in the middle of an interview, Jensen stops and straightens him out (I do not vouch for spoilers in this vid, but the important part is at the beginning):

In short, if you are Jensen's friend, he will take care of you. That's a very attractive quality in a person.

Why mom why not daddy? ;)
Really this Misha vid is the cutest thing ever.

No reason. I guess I just think of mothers as more associated with the niceties--straightening clothing, spit cleaning smudges off of little faces, carrying things in their purses for the kids, receiving gum when the kid gets bored with it, stuff like that.

You can tell in the second vid that Jim Beaver is a dad. :-)

That's why I said caregiver. Because obviously he's not a "mom," he will make a great dad someday I think, and he's very much like a big brother to Jared.

You are so right. I noticed myself, but thought of it as Jensen being "older" and more like the big brother. Is he the oldest in his family? First born son? That kind of nurturing is common for the eldest; being used to helping take care of the other siblings or helping the parents.

It is a great trait and I'm glad you gave us examples of it. He is a nurturer.

Jensen's got an older brother and he's not older than Misha. :)

Oh, hey there. Glad to see you're still around. :-)

Jensen is an older brother. He's also a younger brother. He's the middle child. Older brother, younger sister. He's also an uncle.

I think it's just part of Jensen's make-up. And quite possibly partly due to his upbringing. He always speaks fondly of his family. It seems to me that he's from a very nurturing, caregiving environment.

He just seems to me to be someone who takes care of those around him, especially his friends and colleagues.

He is very motherly. You'd think he was the oldest kid.

I bet he shared his toys in kindergarten. :D

You'd think, wouldn't you. I imagine he's a fairly awesome big brother (and little brother).

Oh, Jensen in kindergarten. Must have been adorable.

I agree. It is one of the things that endears me to him. Jensen Ackles is quiet frankly, a nice guy. It isn't manufactured either. It is a part of his make up. I get the impression that he holds the doors for women, goes to church on Sunday, respects his momma and his dad and treats his wife like she is the love of his life.

Really. You could bring him home to Sunday dinner and he would be a gentleman.

Yes, indeed. A Southern gentleman, yes?

absolutely
