Fic?

So . . .

In my old fandom, writers would have been all over the missing scene where Sam went to the neighbors' house to collect Dean after the uber!poisoning. (For those familiar with TS fandom, I'm speaking of the myriad of missing scenes written for "Cypher," wherein Jim gets Blair out of the dentist chair.) Now, in said previous fandom, TS, I understand why the scene was ultimately deleted from the script: because it would not have added any forward movement to the story. And why fans write many multiples of the missing scene: they want the h/c fix.

However, in "Exile on Main St.," if we'd gotten to see how Sam reacts to such things now in comparison to how he reacted to finding Dean in the puddle in the basement in "Faith," or finding Dean in the djinn's lair in WIaWSNB, that could have given us some very interesting insight into this new and perplexing Sam.

So my question is, has anyone written this scene? I'd almost consider doing it myself, but I'd feel very out of my element, since I don't yet have enough information to grasp this new Sam. I'm not looking for a "fix their relationship NOW" type scene, or a deep, probing character analysis. I'm just looking for that little extra tidbit of h/c connection that we didn't get in the actual ep.

Anyone know of anything floating around like that?

I'm a little confused about that as well, but kinda figured he just jabbed him with the antidote again. But then why couldn't he have saved Sid and his wife.

Obviously I need to look at that scene again.

Fic is always welcome!

Ah-ha! See, that's the thing. Time is of the essence, and Djinn-Girl broke the syringes that Dean was going to use. (And I guess Mrs. Sid was already a goner because Dean checked her pulse, then moved on to Sid.)

But that's kind of what I'd like to see: How does Sam channel his urgency now as compared to then.

Hopefully we'll get something similar in an upcoming epi.

You've got my wheels turning right at a time when I'm slowly adding my fic to LJ anyway. I may come up with something tonight, but it might not meet with your approval. Sometimes I've sent you stuff that didn't interest you at all, and other times you got after me for not having a hanky warning. What's in my head WON'T be a crack!fic, I can tell you that much. I'll see what I come up with and you can put it in the take it or leave it pile.

But since I AM in the process of putting up some FanFic, if you see something pop up from me tonight, that might actually be some crack!fic. This new one will be clearly labeled and I'll say it's for you so you'll know.

So far, I haven't come upon a missing scene story for this. I've seen some FanArt, but I KNOW you wouldn't approve of that. (Me? I'm still giggling over it)

I actually did find one sort of along the lines of what I was looking for here (http://authoressnebula.livejournal.com/933476.html?view=8551780#t8551780). It's Sam POV, if you're interested. That's not to discourage you at all from writing your own take. And if it's something I've actually requested, of course I'll read it!

(You know not to take my lack of response to your stories personally, right? Because when it comes to fic, I sometimes develop ADD. And just ask anyone I beta for how long it takes me to get back with them. Oy.)

Not much to tell. It was straightforward, pretty much like the first time but without the hallucinations. I found him on the floor in the living room, so I hauled him over to the couch and gave him another dose. Then I just waited for him to come around.

The neighbors were already gone. We would need to let local authorities handle that. Carbon monoxide can be very dangerous if you don't check for it. You should install a monitor.

Thank you for filling in those blanks, Sam. Sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me. The succinct recap is appreciated.

Duly noted on the CO.
