Well, that's kinda weird

So. For the last week, I've had an ache in my shoulder blade. Sometimes it's a dull ache; other times it's a sharp pain and makes me want to cry. Sometimes it just feels like a pulled muscle. Sometimes it feels tired. But it's been an almost constant presence, waxing and waning for a week.

Today I went to the doctor. After doing a couple of muscle and flexibility tests, he said that summertime is prime time for obnoxious viruses. (Yes, that's what he called them.) He said that the obnoxious virus that I've been vaccinated for is polio, but there are a lot of obnoxious viruses that are related to polio floating around, and this one has settled in my scapula. He wrote out a prescription for me and told me to exercise what didn't hurt, and drink more fluids to help flush it out. It should be gone in a week.

The doc gave me a prescription for ketoprofin. I was expecting the scrip to be for something antibiotic or anti-viral, but it's an anti-inflammatory pain killer. It's taking the edge off, but I still feel a little stiff.

Of course, that could be because the chair I sit in at work is terribly uncomfortable.

Yep, it still feels like a pulled muscle. Of course, I'm sure that my very uncomfy chair at work his no help whatsoever.

But yeah, I was kind of surprised by the whole it's-a-virus thing.

Yes, it's very obnoxious. It's on the mend (or that could be the pain killers), so here's hoping the virus runs its course and is gone soon.
