Production Week Countdown

Went off book tonight. Called for line several times, but still, there were only four of us that were stumbling through off book.

I now feel ready to work on my blocking. And really delve into developing the character.

Today is Tuesday.

We open on Friday.

We close on Saturday.

Yeah.

Not so much with the delving this time around.

You know how you have dreams about having to give a speech and not being prepared? In my case, the dream is having to go on stage and not knowing my lines.

The drama room of the school where we're performing has quotes by famous people posted on the walls. There was one or two that immediately brought Jensen to mind. If I remember, I'll post them.

Many of the quotes were along the lines of what one of my acting teachers used to say: Acting is reacting.

My dream is always finding myself onstage during a ballet performance and realizing I've come on too early in the middle of someone else's number. *shudder* Too many productions of the Nutcracker when I was little, I guess.

I hope you have fun, even with all this rushing and no chance to delve. Enjoy!

Thanks, hon. I guess there are a few things frustrating me. This is such a deep, thinky show, I'd love to have the proper time to explore it.

We have some high school aged cast members who haven't been to rehearsal, for whatever reason, and now they don't know their lines, which means they screw up others' cues. I don't think the grasp the concept that you don't learn your lines only for yourself; you learn them for your fellow cast members. It's a team effort.

Our rehearsal time has been so short, we haven't really had the opportunity to gel as a cast. We haven't had time to make it really fun, you know?

But on the up side, the guy and girl who are playing George and Emily are hard workers, and the one playing my son ("George"), is such a cutie.

There have been some delightful kids in the cast, but it's been a little frustrating.

Thanks! And thank you for the vote of confidence. :-)

I'll keep y'all posted on the performances.
