Theatrical yay!
So. Once upon a time, the role I really wanted to play . . .
Was a DB on CSI. Are you kidding? Get some awesome gory make-up, and lie on a table. And if you're lucky, get a good flashback scene. I said over and over, "I'd love to be a body on CSI."
Well, things change, and I have just discovered that I have a new role that I really want to play.
A waitress. On SPN. How fun would that be?
It's never occurred to me before.
Ah, but here's what made me think of that.
I auditioned for a show yesterday . . . AND I GOT CAST! *happy dance* And I felt like I screwed up the audition, too. But I got cast! Yay! *Snoopy dance*
The role I'm playing? A New York waitress.
The play is a one act called "The Philadelphia." I am one of three cast members, and the supporting character of the show (rather than one of the leads). Not much to "do," but it's one of those character roles that I think I'm going to have fun with. One of my acting teachers in college told me that I could be a great character actress. (This will give me a chance to brush up on my NY accent. I hope I can remember how to do it.)
I'm just so freakin' thrilled that I've had a successful audition. That hasn't happened in a very long time.* Not since the move to Virginia.
So Yay! \o/
*I found out after the fact that I could have given the most amazing audition of my life, and I still wouldn't have gotten the role I wanted. It was a vanity project, and the role was cast even before auditions were held. I mean, it's one thing to cast a role before holding auditions. It's quite another to go ahead and audition the role, when it's already been cast.

You must keep me updated on stuff. Also, we should still try to find a time to chat. May or may not be watching SPN finale eps live (roomie Amanda gets home that night and we will be catching up--she's been filming a pilot in Puerto Rico)... but maybe that weekend? Or a weekday?

About calling . . . We're going to be in Ohio this weekend (Dayton Film Festival. Geo is doing his radio show live, plus recording about a dozen eps), so that might be problematic. Next week might work, though.
Tonight's squee factor is the season finale of H50. Perhaps I can flail at you about that as well?

Last night, Geo and I also read for parts in Our Town. We'll see how that goes, and if I can do two shows at once.
