There are movies or series I rewatch as much for the location (Brokeback Mountain, Highlander) or the set (Green Card, Roxanne) as the sometimes negligible plot--my set dresser's heart, I guess. We trekked out to Roslyn, where Northern Exposure was filmed, just because it's a day trip and we hadn't explored in that direction. We've visited Concrete, which wasn't where Wishful Thinking was filmed, and plan a trip to Squamish, where it was. Living this close to Vancouver, we'll eventually explore locations from Dark Angel, SGA, SG:1, X-Files, Jeremiah, Eureka, and SPN, as well as other series--especially as a lot of them overlap.
Knowing the Twilight books are set around Forks, WA, and filmed in the eastern part of the state and the Portland, OR area, I was curious. Meyer self-admits she doesn't like vampires or vampire stories. Her "vampires" are toothless vegetarians, fit only to get pre-pubescent girls' emotions churning. She should have been marketed as YA. The only "books" connected with Meyer in any way I would consider purchasing are the director's handbook and the movie companion.
Those are my reasons for clandestinely renting the movie and staying far, far away from the "books"--totally aside from her fandom.
