A day in

Spent most of the day out of the sun today. I'm hoping the burn will be better tomorrow. It's not bad; I just didn't want to subject it to another day of sun.

We all had lunch today at Dirty Dick's Crab House. Their slogan is "I got my crabs at Dirty Dick's." Their mascot, a crab, is named Clappy. Do with that as you will.

But the food was good. I don't really like seafood, but the red beans and rice that I had was tasty.

I've been showing my mom some of Jensen's earlier work. My mom-in-law walked through the room and said something like, "Oh, it's Patrick Swayze." "No," says I, "the actor's name is Jensen Ackles." "He looks like a young Patrick Swayze," says MiL. I don't see the resemblance myself, but considering that thought Patrick Swayze was--what's the word? Hot--back during his Dirty Dancing days, that's a compliment.

My mom has commented twice on Jensen's smile. In one instance, she said, "It lights up the screen."

Also, I told my mom Jensen is currently wearing a full beard. *Gasp* says she, "no!" Then I showed her a pic. To which her response was an appreciative, "Oh, my."

Hey, quick question. I know Jensen's eyes are on the green side of hazel, and when he wears green, it really brings out the green in his eyes. But a couple things I've watched recently, when he wears blue, they almost look a dark blue. Am I nuts? Or do his eyes pick up blue in blue shirts?

My husband has a "I got my crabs at Dirty Dick's" T-Shirt.

I bought it for him.

What can I say, I am a sucker for innuendo.

Your mom is great! :-)

I think this may require some photographic evidence...maybe you should put out a request for pictures of Jensen wearing anything blue? Of course, this is just to help you, I won't benefit at all from this. LOL

This can also be affected by camera filters, esp. if his eyes are hazel. Give a blue cast to the scene (for atmosphere) and hazel eyes would follow suit.

(Matt Smith is similar: hazel eyes that're usually greenish, but certain lights make them look grey-blue.)

I think Jensen's contacts may have been tinted. His eyes have looked less determinedly green in pictures taken since his surgery.

Hee! Well, it was in S1 stuff, and if I can remember the ep(s) where it struck me, I'll see what I can do.

Very true. I don't remember the scene in question requiring special lighting, but I'm sure they do subtle things that I don't even notice, in addition to the light/shadow contrast that they do for the more intense scenes.

Also a possibility. I don't think they were tinted per se (like I had green lenses when I was in college--I have brown eyes), but some contacts do have a kind of bluish tint to the material they're made out of. So you might be on to something there.

I still think green brings out the green in them, though.
