You know what else I kind of wonder about? When folks are like, Dean killed Amy and let the werewolf girl go, and now Benny. And it's kind of OOC of Dean for other folks but I don't really think so.
He killed Amy because she started killing people and he believed that faced with the same situation (her son is dying), she would resort to the same means again. He didn't kill the son because he hadn't killed anyone yet, and he'd let Lenore go (at Sam's behest) because he believed that she'd turn over a new leaf. So the werewolf girl and Benny make sense to me.
I'm not sure if this is the writers fault or if it's the lens that people are viewing it. But then again, I guess everyone's mileage varies.
