Without my laptop

So. The kitty used the laptop on my desk as a launching pad last night, it fell off the desk, and the power connector was damaged. So it's in the shop until next week. Ack! What will I do without it?

Well, I've got a busy weekend coming up, so maybe I won't miss it. It'll be good for me, right?

Besides, there's not much chatter going on about Show. My usual peeps are busy with RL; a lot of my cyber-peeps have apparently lost interest. I don't frequent many on-line haunts, but the one or two that I do, it's getting harder and harder to find a positive discussion about the show. I know there are those on my f-list (ficwriter :-) ) who are enjoying S7, and I'm really liking it very much. Yes, it has its problems, but it's still the one show I look forward to with anticipation each week.

No, it's not the "same" show that Izhi introduced me two four years ago. How could it be? The characters have changed and grown, the actors have grown, the writing team has changed (several times). The "magic is gone" for so many people, and that seems to be all I'm reading about. I'm not hearing about the show "now," I'm hearing about it compared to "then."

And with hiatus upon us in a couple of days, it's going to be even harder for this spoiler-allergic fan to tread the internet. Spoilers in thread subject lines. Spoilers in linked headlines. Separating "news" (like the on-line concert Steve Carlson had and Jensen sat in on) or pictures or whatnot from plot spoilers is going to be nigh impossible until it's too late and I've been spoiled.

Obviously, I have a computer at my disposal--the desktop computer. Which kinda ties me down.

So maybe this enforced respite will be a good thing. Get me to take a step back from fandom. Get me away from media and news (always depressing anyway). Get rid of the "noise" and talk to individuals (if they're available). Musey has been playing with ripples in the pool, but she's not fired up to get anything on paper.

I wish I could adopt Dean's "I don't care that I don't care," but right now, I'm just too tired to care.

So if I'm around even less than usual, that's why.

My laptop's hard disk is on the verge of crashing. It's already giving me warnings that I need to do a back up and not use it until a new hard disk is installed. Honestly, I think my HP is just pissed that I keep mentioning wanting a Mac. :)

I've been very happy with S7. Except for that wedding crapola. Did. Not. Like. I don't visit a lot of sites like I used to. I'm fairly satisfied with a few of the flisties who post reviews and chatter about the boyz. The only spoilery stuff I hear about are casting type things which I don't care knowing about anyway. In fact, most of the casting stuff is pretty cool. Shininess ahead!

I keep saying I'm gonna post more, but I never manage to do it. I've got good things and bad things and pics and shininess and stuff to chat about. *headdesk*

I don't get it. Yes a lot of people are disappointed with the show or abandonded it for good (i can relate to them as you know) but if you still like it why the better way for you to be is off the talk?
I assure you as far as i know there were no real spoilers - like big changes or anything, mostly it's just casting that doesn't bring anything to the plate.

I'm not on LJ much because of RL...stopped going to those negative sites long ago. I personally am really enjoying this season (only one epi so far I haven't liked...**coughbeckycough**...but I am really intrigued by the Leviathons. I've been where you are attitude wise, and bottom line, if you enjoy the show....then enjoy the show. Don't let others squash your squee. Took me a while to learn that. And you know what? Even if Show had the most awesome storyline ever created, there would still be those who do nothing but complain. **sigh**

On a lighter note, NEW EPI TOMORROW!!

This is totally off topic...but I made those Snowflake cookies from that recipe you posted last year and let me tell you, they melt in your mouth! Now my girls have decided they need to be a Christmas decorating tradition. :)

Okay back on topic...you can stay in fandom, just hang out in the corner with those of us who aren't negative Nellies. :)

I haven't been around too much this past couple of weeks - it's a rough time of year, because I am missing my mom something terrible, and work is just a ridiculous situation. (I keep thinking, I graduated from high school in 1972, but apparently, for some people, high school NEVER ENDS. We're all in our 50's? Doesn't matter! Let's play "Mean Girls" LOL!!!!) It just makes me enormously tired.

But I'm good with Show this season. True, I'm not nearly as excited about it as I was back in S2 and S3, but that was the fun of a new, shiny love. Show and I are kind of used to each other now. It's like, "Could you take out the trash, PLEASE?" "Okay, if you stop leaving your stuff all over the table!"

I'm getting the sense that a big chunk of the fandom won't let go of their anger over the loss of Cas/Misha, so even if Show came up with The Best Episode EVER in the History of Television, they'd still be disgruntled (and loud about it). Another chunk is angry over the loss of their ardent J2 fantasies. So yeah - it's tough to find a sandbox that's not contaminated, these days. I've been contenting myself with just reading the flisties' more RL-oriented posts, and chatting with them about those things.

I've only heard one plot-oriented spoiler lately. I will say, it perked up my eyebrows. (In a positive way.) The casting stuff, I haven't been impressed with, because I don't know those particular actors.
