Cas, you might want to take notes . . .

Just got done watching "Scarecrow."

I'm struck, this time around, by the Sam / Meg scene vis-a-vis the Castiel / Crowley scene. In "Scarecrow," Meg tries to tempt Sam into ditching Dean and going with her to California. Sam says no, he has to go find his brother, because Dean is his family.

In "The Man Who Would Be King" (right?), Crowley tempts Cas to ignore Dean and partner with Crowley. And Cas agrees.

Cas? The next time a demon tries to tempt you away from the one bright point in your war, your strongest ally, your compass? You. Say. No.

Just FYI.

Also? I miss the simplicity and the mystery of the early seasons, before the mytharc became so unwieldy as to be all but crushed under its own weight.
