Yeah, it's probably better that it's gone, at this point. But I remember being so sad when he tossed it and being sort of obsessed for a while over how it had always represented Dean's ability to "hope all things," as it were, for Sam, and that after that ep Sam was the one doing all the hoping, so in my head he had to have the amulet. And then he went to Hell and had no soul for a bit, so...yeah, not much room for the amulet anymore. Alas.
