Pie's sexy older sister
I read a fic somewhere recently wherein Sam was unable to locate any pie for Dean, and so brought him cobbler instead. Dean is quite accepting of the substitute. "Cobbler is, like, pie's sexy older sister," he says. Or something like that. Which I thought was a hilarious line.
I made peach cobbler for dessert tonight. And dang does it look good.
I've also got chicken tetrazzini in the oven. I've never made it before, so we'll have to see how it turns out.
The cobbler recipe is from the 75 anniversary cookbook from my home church. The tetrazzini recipe is from Southern Living. When I looked up tetrazzini recipes on Midwest Living's website, I notice that the mid-west recipe calls for water chestnuts. Which sounds FANTASTIC. I almost put some in, but I opted to try the recipe as written instead. Also, the recipe made enough for 2 casseroles, so we're pretty much set for a while. Heh.
Watched AVSC and MalMal yesterday and today. Will post thoughts on those later.
